Dan was raised on the American/Canadian border of Northern New York's rural 1000 Islands area. He holds a BFA in Photography from SUNY at New Paltz and a MSED in Reading from CUNY at Herbert H. Lehman College. Dan worked as a B&W reproduction printer and small product photographer in New York City until starting his career in education.
