The Sawmill was located in upstate New York on the American-Canadian border.  The mill was run by the Thurman family and serviced the talc mines located near Gouverneur, NY. The mill cut green timber into boards on a head saw, and subsequently cut the boards to various lengths to make pallets.  Having worked in the mill for several summers as a younger man, I was saddened to hear of its recent closing due to reductions in the mining industry.
