Allegories: Short Films with Big Messages As a 4th grade teacher for 31 years I was inundated with stories of every genre of fiction and nonfiction imaginable. My students and I spent everyday immersed in these texts as it was the currency on which well-educated children were steeped. Sharing books and reading aloud was a pleasurable ritual that brought joy and initiated discourse. It is in this vein that these shorts were created. In part to explore the art of filmmaking and writing, but in great measure to tell a fun story once again.
