"Altered Perceptions” (2024-Present) is a photographic series that explores the visual experience and the anchoring of meaning. The images within this collection are non-digital and have been meticulously transformed in the darkroom rather than through digital manipulation.
To achieve the unique visual effects present in the series I employed rubylith, orthochromatic, and amberlith masking films. These films in combination with creative darkroom techniques allow for the modified compositions. The resulting gelatin-silver photographs challenge conventional expectations and encourage viewers to reconsider their relationship with the photographic imagery.
