"Altered Perceptions” (2024-25) is a photographic series exploring the visual experience. The images within this collection are non-digital and have been meticulously transformed in the darkroom, rather than through digital manipulation.
To achieve the unique visual effects present in the series, I employed rubylith, orthochromatic, and amberlith masking films. These materials were combined with creative darkroom techniques, allowing for modified compositions and enhanced perceptual impact. The resulting gelatin-silver photographs challenge conventional expectations and encourage viewers to reconsider their relationship with photographic imagery.
