"The Evangelists" (1988/89) is a series of photographs I took in and around NYC's Time Square in the late 1980's. These individuals would travel about saving souls and preaching to the public. As natural performers, I found the evangelists to enjoy the presence of the photographer. Equally interesting were the people who would stop on their travels for spiritual enlightenment and salvation.
