Looking Rearward is a series of photographs that I took in Montreal in July of 2026 using expired film (Kodak TMax 400 pushed to 800). I used a waist level finder on my Canon F-1 to capture the rearward side of my subjects while they were engrossed in moments of social engagement. With a 50mm lens – and at times a 20mm - I snapped the unconventional compositions with the intent of revealing the sublime formalism in the everyday interaction of people in groups.
