"Yonkers:  Beautiful Moments in an Ugly Town" (Ongoing series)

 

Yonkers, N.Y. is a tough, gritty town.  This city of 200,000 lies just north of New York City on the eastern shore of the Hudson River. An exhausted industrial town, Yonkers has little to boast of in terms of cultural or popular attractions.  Yet despite its seemingly dilapidated and worn appearance, as one travels its hilly streets moments are revealed that are strangely beautiful and compelling.
